Hello!
On behalf of the Panhellenic Council I want to thank you for your interest in Sorority Life here at The University of Akron. I am thrilled that you are interested in joining one of the five National Panhellenic Chapters that are here at UA. The five sororities were founded on similar values of academic excellence, leadership development, philanthropic involvement, and sisterhood bonding that lasts a lifetime. Each chapter is unique and has something special to offer its members. Without one another, we could not be the great Greek community that we are.
Each semester, the Panhellenic community’s grade point average is above that of the all-women’s grade point average, showing our dedication to academics. Sorority women are involved in a variety of other student organizations and continue to be leaders both in and out of the classroom. Last year, the five Panhellenic sororities raised over $30,000 for charity through our various philanthropic activities and donated over 7,000 hours of time towards community service! Your collegiate sorority experience does not stop at the end of your college career and it is truly sisterhood for a lifetime. Our recruitment theme, “Experience the Tradition of Sorority Life” expresses how all of our sororities were founded with unique values, rituals, symbols, and traditions that continue to live on in everything we do today. Throughout sorority recruitment, we hope to share with you the traditions we cherish, a glimpse at the ceremonies that mean so much to us, and the reason why we love being Greek. I look forward to showing you all that The University of Akron’s Sorority Life has to offer during sorority recruitment this Fall!
Loyally,
